We offer one-on-one coaching for members and non-members to learn Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, Overhead Press and any Strongman movement, as well as Knee Wrapping sessions if you are prepping for a competition. Coaching is available in the gym as well as online, so you’re never without answers!

For 24/7 gym access, become a member for $30 per week. Membership benefits include:

  • 24 hour access to competition grade powerlifting and strongman equipment.
  • Discounted rates on group classes and group competition prep.
  • Discounted rates to our allied health professionals.
  • Discounted rates for competitions and workshops.
  • Discounted rates for coaching and programming.

Membership fees are deducted from your bank account weekly. Membership can be terminated on three months’ notice.

Casual access

We also offer casual access to the gym:

  • $15 casual day pass
  • $35 casual weekly pass
  • $135 casual monthly pass

Non-members can use the gym any week day when the gym is staffed. Non-members can also use the gym on a Saturday by booking through Square Up:

Regular infrared heat therapy can increase performance in athletes by up to 20%, through increased blood flow volume to the muscles and skin.

Infrared sauna sessions are 1 hour each. Members pay $20 per session; non-members pay $25 per session.

About NQ Heavy Events

Originally conceptualised in 2018, NQ Heavy Events was founded to legitimise the Strength Sport arena in North Queensland. Specialising mainly in Strongman/Strongwoman and Powerlifting competitions, NQ Heavy Events aims to grow these strength sports into something comparable to the mainstream sports seen or played in the North. We run, on average, 4 to 6 competitions every year in both powerlifting and strongman/woman. We empower people with the knowledge and skills they need in order to lift safely and efficiently, program effectively and compete to the best of their ability on comp day by running workshops throughout the year. Join us to start planning your year of lifting and learning.

NQ Heavy Events is also available for hire, to display feats of strength at other events. Whether it’s lifting heavy stones, logs or barbells, NQ Heavy Events can help plan and facilitate an exhibition style show at your event.

Sports massage emphasises prevention and healing of injuries to your muscles and tendons. Sports massage is really helpful for the individual who has injuries, chronic pain or restricted selection of movement.

Aiden Muir – Ideal Nutrition
Accredited Practising Dietitian and Accredited Sports Dietitian

Aidan is an accredited practising dietitian and sports dietitian who has been in the industry for almost 4 years following the completion of his degree in Nutrition and Dietetics.

He has worked in a variety of settings throughout this time but has always had an emphasis on working with strength athletes. Over the years and particularly in the past 12 months, he has worked with a lot of top level powerlifters and strongman competitors. From a personal standpoint, he also trains as a powerlifter at Valhalla Strength in Brisbane.

His main areas of emphasis are helping people with their nutrition to gain muscle, lose fat, recover from injuries quicker and improve their performance in general.
