After many years of commercial gyms and lots and lots of cardio, plus the usual yo-yo diets, a friend took me to Valhalla Strength Townsville. I started with the ladies night classes and after lifting my first 100kg Deadlift I was hooked and wanted to get stronger.
I competed for the first time in 2017, not sure what I weighed , but it would have been over 90kg. This year in May will be my 5th year at Valhalla and it was the best decision ever.
The support, encouragement and friendship given from Brad and Jess , as well as the rest of the Valhalla family is phenomenal. They say slow and steady wins the race, it has been slow, but I won, gaining more confidence in myself, and not just from the weight loss but from feeling strong and lifting heavy.
